ZL1XMSHWelcomed - Alan Meek VK4WR/ZL1RQ guest op Apart from the Solar flare I think we also had an antenna problem on the second day which dented our score aspirations But great contest as always
ZL3XM2Challenging solar Conditions but still great fun and camaraderie!
ZS1TMJSO HP ALLThis is my first CQ WW SSB contest. It was a memorable experience!!
ZS2NFSO LP ALLConditions were pretty good on the higher bands this time, especially 10m which was really smoking hot! I used 100w from an ICOM 736 with a ground plane on 40m, a 2 el quad at 22m on 20m and 15m and a 5 el yagi at 23m on 10m. No chance for 80m as very noisy and the centre fed 80m doublet wasn't cutting the mustard. For the first time I experienced a total radio blackout for about an hour from 1100 UTC on Sunday 26th. I checked the solar X-ray report from Boulder to find out what was happening. It was a big X class flare. Really freaky to have the whole HF spectrum go quiet. I first thought my RX had packed up! Otherwise great fun was had. Thanks !
ZW5BMSHOperation was in tribute to CX5BW SK MEMBER OF ADXG
